“Energetik”

In 1970, in the young developing city of Pripyat, the Palace of Culture Energetik was built in Lenin Square with white marble decoration, a cinema for 800 people, a spacious hall, gym, hotel, restaurant and even a pharmacy were located in this building.

(The adjoining ’before’ photo, taken by an unknown photographer in 1986 just prior to the accident, gives you an idea of what Pripyat looked like in it’s day & how nature is overtaking Pripyat.)
