Hamnøy is the oldest fishing village on the eastern side of Moskenesøya by the spectacular fjord of Reinefjorden. The brightly colored seaside wooden ‘rorbuer’ cabins of the Lofoten Islands are steeped in tradition, once housing many hardened fishermen who made the winter pilgrimage to the world’s most fertile cod fishing grounds.
